This is a proper handwoven mud cloth throw, made the traditional Malian way. We should confess upfront: it is not quick to make, nor should it be. What you are holding is the result of genuine craft, the sort that involves actual people, actual skill, and an awful lot of patience. Rather marvellous when you think about it.

Authentically Made by Hand: Each throw is hand spun and hand woven using local cotton and traditional strip looms. The strips are carefully sewn together by artisans who have perfected this technique over generations.
Natural Mud Dye Process: The cloth is soaked in a mixture of pounded leaves from local trees, then decorated with pre-mixed mud dye using a bamboo or metal spatula. Every design is hand drawn and outlined, making each piece utterly unique.
Rich Pattern Heritage: Patterns and colours reflect gender, social status, and personal artistic taste within Malian culture. You are not simply buying fabric. You are acquiring a conversation piece with genuine cultural significance.
