Using Your Candle Safely
Candles create a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere, though we do rather insist on a bit of sensible caution. Keep candles away from flammable materials like curtains and furniture. Pop them out of reach of children and pets. Use a proper candle holder to catch melted wax and any falling embers. Trim wicks to one quarter inch before lighting for an even, slower burn. Extinguish when you leave the room or head to bed. Never use water to extinguish, and do avoid moving a lit candle about. If burning multiple candles, keep them a sensible distance apart. For outdoor use, shelter from wind. Always exercise caution when lighting and extinguishing.
