Here Are A Few of Our Favourite Things
Sostter is designed and curated with an emphasis on quality, craftsmanship and the never-ending search for the extraordinary and the beautiful. We live and design in London and we would like to share a few of our favourite restaurants, markets, shops and a few little extras......
Russell Norman’s Trattoria Brutto for all things Florentine, along with an all-day bar that serves the best Negroni. Another favourite is St John 72 Druid Street, London, SE1 2HQ has THE BEST doughnuts we have ever tasted.
Another favourite is Brunswick House Vauxhall, housed in an antique-filled Georgian mansion that dates back to 1758. It is a historic building in London that is home to a restaurant run by chef Jackson Boxer, which serves delicious food and offers a unique dining experience. The restaurant features beautiful chandeliers from Lassco, which add to the elegant and historic atmosphere of the building. The building is located on the Vauxhall gyratory, which is known for its eclectic setting surrounded by skyscrapers. The restaurant is particularly popular in the spring when the Wisteria is in bloom, making it a great destination for locals and tourists alike to experience a piece of London's history and culture. Afterwards, for a quick, perfect coffee, we head over to Nola.
Our absolute favourite place to spend spare hours is at the wonderful Anya Hindmarch & The Village.
We are huge fans of her eponymous bags and have paid numerous visits to the brands The Village, on Pont Street, London - a collection of wonderful little village stores.
Liberty is an absolute go-to for something special, it never fails, there really aren’t many shops like it. We also recently found LAMP in Peckham, a treasure trove of interiors delights that we love to visit. Trove in Nottinghill from Studio Duggan is well worth a visit.
Favourite books to read in 2024?
The MADLY, DEEPLY: The Diaries of Alan Rickman is definitly of our list. A close second is The Bullet That Missed from Richard Osman. Others to mention are Ian McEwan, William Boyd, Celeste Ng, Kate Atkinson, Elizabeth Strout and George Saunders
What are our favourite beauty products?
We are both big fans of brands that are working hard to replace single-use plastics. So brands like Faith in Nature shampoo, conditioner and body wash which comes in a recycled bottle and is refillable. And 100 Acres with ingredients sustainably sourced, cruelty-free, fully traced, and all packaging is either 100% recyclable, biodegradable or already recycled...plus theysmell really great.
What are the top accounts that we follow on our new Instagram account?
Friends first. For interiors we love @elizabethhaydesign, @edwardbulmerpaint. Cosmetics @100_acres, Galleries @mayorgallery
Which bag is our Sostter favourite bag?
Our favourite is always the one we are designing next. Our top tip for choosing a bag is always to pick one that has intention, expression and quality of execution. Our Natural Animal Print Leather Shoulder Bag has proved to be a real hit with our lovely customers.
Which other designers do you admire?
There are so many great designers out there - Anya Hindmarch as mentioned above designs the most incredible bags and accessories, and for interiors we just love India Mahdavi P Joseph and Maddux Creative
