Rather like finding that one perfect teacup at a car boot sale, except this actually is one of a kind and won't chip. Before I release any painting for printing, I create a single test proof right here in my studio. I inspect it personally for colour accuracy against the original, squinting at it from various angles like some sort of obsessive art detective. This is that very proof. The one. The only. Ever.
In the fine art world, we call this the Artist's Proof, and it's my personal seal of approval. Only one exists for each painting, which means once it's gone, that's rather it for this particular version.
