Daz Studio
Italian-Leather Shoes and Bags from a Vilnius Atelier.
Daz Studio is a premium leather-goods brand founded in 2018 by Daria Kazijeva — originally in London, now rooted in Berlin, with all production handled in a small atelier in Vilnius, Lithuania, where every piece is made by hand. The brand operates on a strict slow-design philosophy: pieces are made to order rather than to inventory (which lets the studio offer bespoke fittings and reduces waste to almost nothing), production runs are small, and every pair of shoes goes through more than one hundred individual production steps before completion. Materials are Italian leather throughout — sourced directly from the Italian leather industry, which remains the global benchmark — paired with full-leather linings, insoles, and either leather or rubber soles depending on the design. The aesthetic is the strict-Berlin one: minimalism with an edge, classic shapes turned slightly playful, contemporary cuts that reject the seasonal-fashion cycle in favour of pieces that last properly.
The range is built around four product categories: shoes (the brand's hero product, including handmade Tabi split-toe shoes, lace-up utility boots, mid-heeled ankle boots, crocodile-print leather styles, and a wider selection of unisex pieces), handbags (envelope bags, totes, crossbodies, in single-piece Italian leather construction), small leather accessories (wallets, cardholders, belts), and outerwear (coats and small leather-trimmed pieces). Pieces are designed unisex where possible, with sizing and fitting customisable on request — a meaningful operational difference from off-the-rack alternatives. Slow design here isn't a marketing line: it's a properly enforced production model with measurable consequences for waste, quality, and fit. Pieces ship from the Vilnius atelier with tracking and insurance, and each leather garment is built to outlast the more usual seasonal-fashion turnover by an order of magnitude.
