Nuss is a small family-run home-textiles brand based in Riga, Latvia, taking its name from the founders' own family — a quiet tribute to the creative and hardworking souls who came before — and operating out of a small workshop on Matīsa iela in the Latvian capital. The proposition is the slightly old-fashioned one: that natural-fibre home textiles, made by hand with the care that comes from a small family business, are a meaningfully better proposition than the mass-produced equivalent — particularly for the items the household uses every day. The range covers the bathroom (linen and cotton towels, robes, hair turbans), the kitchen and dining table (tablecloths, napkins, runners, aprons), the sauna (pirts dvieļi — sauna towels and robes, a category that doesn't really exist in the British home-textiles market but matters considerably in the Baltic one), and a small gift end (scrunchies, cosmetic pouches, gift sets).

Every piece is made from 100% linen or cotton — OEKO-TEX certified, meaning the fabrics have been tested and verified free of harmful substances at every stage of production — and finished by hand in the workshop, with every stitch made with intention rather than at industrial speed. Linen has a particular case to make for itself in home textiles: it absorbs moisture better than cotton, has natural antibacterial properties, breathes more readily, and (perhaps most importantly) gets softer with every wash rather than worse.
