Food Hall
Devon Chocolate Since 1981. Perth Hampers Since 1985. Independent Food and Drink Made by People Who Take Flavour Properly Seriously.
Welcome to the Sostter Food Hall — a hand-picked gathering of small producers who treat flavour as a properly serious pursuit. Expect chocolate with real depth, coffee with proper provenance, biscuits that behave beautifully alongside a cup of tea, hampers assembled with the care of a proper concierge, and all manner of little edible triumphs created by people who genuinely care about what they make. The food world has been sliding for years towards a kind of dreary supermarket sameness — same six chocolate brands, same eight coffee blends, same shortbread tins copied from the same five originals. The Food Hall at Sostter pushes back against that. Properly small producers. Properly distinctive recipes. Properly honest ingredients. Nothing on these shelves is here because it was cheap to source — it's here because someone proper made it properly.
The directory anchors around several properly considered names. Salcombe Dairy has been making chocolate and ice cream in Devon from an unchanged recipe since 1981, quietly winning Great Taste Awards and providing the Royal Family with its preferred ice cream along the way. Highland Fayre has been assembling Scottish hampers from its Perth base since 1985, planting a tree for every hamper sold. The Amazing Chocolate Workshop handmakes single-origin chocolate in genuinely small batches. Exhale Healthy Coffee is a B Corp-certified coffee brand focused on properly sourced specialty beans. Bennetto is the B Corp chocolate brand with proper Fairtrade credentials. And to complete the brewing-and-serving side of the offering, La Cafetière — fifty years of coffee and tea equipment made in Europe with borosilicate glass and proper provenance — sits alongside considered serveware from across our wider directory. Every product comes from an independent producer who could have taken the easier route to market and decided against it.
For curated gift-buying, see our Hampers and Gifts For Him / Gifts For Her edits at Sostter.
